A German banker named Herman Dietrich Upmann created the H. Upmann brand in 1844. The H. Upmann cigar is one of the oldest cigar brands around today. Upmann had arrived in Havana and purchased his cigar factory. Along with starting a cigar line, he also started a banking business. The banking business catered mostly to tobacco dealers and manufacturers. The brand gained popularity on an international level and is still well-known today. The brand even won a few gold medals at various exhibitions. Upmann received a lot of credit for having the idea of packing his cigars in cedar wood boxes for clients. Accused of espionage during World War 1, the company had to close its doors for thirty months.
Consider our range of H.Upmann cigars that are notorious for being strong with the first few pulls and gradually get sweeter and earthier in taste.
