A Cuban Treasure.At the mere age of thirteen, Don José Gener y Batet moved to Cuba to work in Vuelta Abajo on his uncle’s plantation. Twenty years later, Don bought and opened his very own cigar factory, situated in Havana. He named the line of cigars, Hoyo de Monterrey. Shortly after, Don used the profits he made from the factory to buy the best tobacco farm in Vuelta Abajo. The Hoyo de Monterrey factory became the largest cigar factory in Cuba. This cigar won the hearts of many and became the most treasured cigar from Cuba all around the world. In 2005, the brand released a petit Robusto cigar that gained even more popularity. The Hoyo de Monterrey brand has made it to the list of brands to make the most online sales.
