Maduro wrapper is simply a leaf that has been fermented longer and hotter, and what comes out the other side is darker, oilier and much sweeter. Omar Ortez’s Maduro Robusto is a textbook example.

Dark chocolate and molasses lead, with espresso and a touch of dried fruit through the middle. The Nicaraguan filler keeps some earth and spice underneath so the sweetness never runs away with it.

Medium to full-bodied and the best cigar in the range to smoke after dinner, ideally with coffee or a dark rum.
