Description

Club 500 is Viva La Vida’s signature release and the cigar the brand is judged on. The wrapper is dark and oily, the roll is firm, and the draw is deliberately on the tighter side of medium so the smoke comes through cool.

The first third opens on cocoa and roasted coffee with a cedar sweetness underneath. Through the middle it thickens into dark chocolate and leather, and the last third brings a black pepper edge without ever turning harsh.

Medium to full in body. Best given an hour and a half and something dark to drink alongside it — an aged rum, a bourbon, or a strong black coffee.
